Delight Your Belly.

Details may still change. Check back closer to the date!

Friday Night Food Truck

Dinner on Friday will be provided by CURBSIDE food truck.

You’ll get to choose between four mains (chicken sandwich, fish tacos, brisket sandwich, and falafel), and pair it with your choice of two sides (brussels sprouts, mac n’ cheese, salad rolls, street corn).

See menu to the right for dietary restrictions. (Celiac friends: we triple-checked and they assured us they are diligent on gluten cross-contamination!)

And then, Birthday Cake!

We both have a lot of siblings. Thirteen between us. Finding a weekend that didn’t fall on somebody’s birthday would have been wildly unlikely.

So this is when we’ll be cutting cake and singing happy birthday to Greg.

Saturday Bruschetta Breakfast

We’ll be setting up a cute lil bruschetta bar for Saturday morning, and gathering around to hear love stories and speeches.

Expect an assemble-it-yourself station with options that include cured meats, marinated veggies, little salsas, fresh herbs, preserves, tapenade, and things to drizzle.

We’ll have a gluten-free option, and a strategy for making sure our celiac friends are cared for.

Light Lunch

TBD. There’s going to be a lot of really great food throughout the day, but lunch will be a simple affair amidst all the getting ready.

After the Ceremony, it's Appetizer Hour!

Antipasto in Salami Cups

Marinated artichoke, roasted red pepper, fresh basil, cherry tomato, and this vegan mozzarella. Some topped with a kalamata, some without.

A vegan version will also be available.

Stuffed Dates

Medjool dates, stuffed with crumbled walnut and this vegan feta, drizzled with honey and a touch of chili oil.

Roast Garlic and Beet Purée

Roast garlic, beet, and lemon, blended with olive oil and sea salt. Served on top of a fancy gluten-free cracker, garnished with dill.

Celebration Feast: Barbecue

Our celebration feast is being catered by Pitt County BBQ, who will be cooking whole hog barbecue on site, plus bringing in brisket, piedmont coleslaw, and buns.

And Our Homemade Faves

The idea of throwing a big party and not being involved in making food for people was unthinkable (at least for Avery). So in addition to everything Pitt County BBQ is bringing to the table, we’ll be preparing some of our own faves to round out the meal.

Expect our dinner party classics:

  • vegan kale caesar salad
  • baked yams
  • pickled onions

And finally, dessert

We’re making the crowd pleaser from our last few dinner parties: avocado chocolate mousse, topped with coconut whip and fresh berries. (vegan)

It’s traditional to cut a wedding cake, so we’ll also have a tasteful little number from Flirt Cupcakes (in honour of our first night in Edmonton).

Weather permitting, there will also be late night s’mores.

Allison's Farewell Brunch

It’s important to remember who this weekend is truly about: the mother of the bride. Sunday morning, Allison gets to take over the kitchen and, with the help of Uncle Eddie, cook up a delicious feast to send us all on our way with bellies full.

Guaranteed to be cooked with love.
